Getting started: from order to open firm

BuildPropFirm builds, hosts and runs your prop firm's site on your own domain. This guide walks through everything between your order and your first trader. Already ordered? Your site's page shows the same guide with your own DNS values.

1. After you order

Every site goes through the same steps. Your site's page in your account shows where it stands, and we e-mail you at each one.

  1. Pay the setup invoiceYour order creates the setup invoice: the setup fee, the first month and any languages beyond your plan's. You can still change your request.
  2. ReviewWe check your details, logo, icon and domain records. If something needs a change you see our note on your site's page: edit the request and send it back.
  3. BuildOnce approved we build your site on our servers, with its own database, on your domain, its api. and admin. addresses.
  4. First syncYour new site checks in with the platform and turns Active. From then on it checks in every few minutes.
  5. SetupYour request is applied: name, logo, icon, colours, template, features and languages. We e-mail you when the site is up; your first admin signs in at admin.<your domain>.
  6. Launch checklistIn your own admin panel you finish the checklist below and open the site. Until then it stays out of search engines.

2. DNS records

Add these records where your domain's DNS is managed (your registrar or DNS provider). Check DNS on your site's page looks them up through public resolvers (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8); new records can take from a few minutes to a few hours to show. We approve the site once the ownership record and the three site records are in place.

  • @ means the domain itself (yourfirm.com); api is api.yourfirm.com and admin is admin.yourfirm.com. When an AAAA (IPv6) record is listed, add it too.
  • Your storefront lives on yourfirm.com itself. Add www as a CNAME to yourfirm.com too (optional, but recommended): visitors who type www.yourfirm.com are then sent to yourfirm.com. Without it only the www address fails; the rest of your site works.
  • Your site's e-mail is your own: in your site's admin (Emails → Settings) connect your mail provider (SMTP, Mailerino, Elastic Email or MailerLite) and add the SPF and DKIM records that provider gives you, so your e-mails reach the inbox.
  • The ownership value is your site's own: a record copied from another site, or left over from an old one, does not prove anything.

3. If your DNS is on Cloudflare

  • Set api and admin to DNS only (grey cloud) unless our team tells you otherwise. Keep @ DNS only too until your site is approved: a proxied record answers with Cloudflare's addresses, so our check cannot see that it points at our server.
  • For your site, turn off Email Address Obfuscation (Scrape Shield) and Rocket Loader (Speed → Optimization): both rewrite the pages your site sends, which breaks e-mail addresses and scripts on them.
  • TXT records (the ownership record, and your mail provider's SPF, DKIM and DMARC) are never proxied: add them as they are shown.

4. Connect your broker

Your site works with MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 and reaches the market through the broker you choose — we can connect it to any broker you want. If you already have your own white label at a broker, we connect your site to it; if a broker gives you Manager API access, we can connect to that too. We do not provide a broker or a white label ourselves.

Tell our team in a ticket which broker and platform (MT4, MT5 or both) you want. We set up the connection for your site; any access details you send us reach your site encrypted, and you never paste them into your site yourself.

5. The launch checklist

Sign in to your admin panel (admin.yourfirm.com) and open Platform & launch. It lists what your site needs before it opens:

  • Your firm's own name and logo
  • A support address traders can write to
  • E-mail that is delivered
  • Someone who receives the site's alerts
  • A payment method for your traders
  • Your broker connection (section 4)
  • Trading accounts ready to deliver
  • Packages on sale
  • The four legal pages
  • Two-step login on every admin account

Recommended too: your colours, KYC (identity checks) for traders and your own homepage words (Appearance → Site copy).

When everything is ticked, press Open the site: it records the moment, lets search engines in, and the platform hears of it on the site's next check-in.

6. Getting help

Open a ticket from your account (Tickets): name your site's domain and what you see — for DNS questions, a screenshot of your records helps. You can also reply to any e-mail we sent you about your site. Planned maintenance and incidents of the platform are on the status page.
